Mend Singer 2010 Sewing Machine Repair

singer touch tronic 2010 runs continuously?

will not stop running, If you plug it in and click the side switch it runs continuously, the pedal has no affect on machine
Is this something I can fix at home ...
or do i need to take it in? there was a question about another brand doing the same thing and they responded to remove some kind of fuse? I guess it was not needed but i believe it was a different brand?

Hello Lisa,
Undo the foot control and you will see what looks like a large fuse call a suppressor or capacitor, it will go across the two terminals, take it out and throw it away and it will be okay.
