ford fiesta window winder how do i get it off the door its a 1990 model?

its a horseshoe shaped clip holding it on to winder mechanism [ bend a split pin at right angle about 3/16" and use it to pull clip out ] to put back place clip in its position on handle and knock back on with your hand,be careful not to lose clip when removing!
