i have recently had problems with my golf and need to replace knock sensor,i have just today took it out not knowing that it needs a torque setting for the nut, can any one help im desperate,n also if this sensor is broke would it cut the car out n make it splutter its for the golf gti 2l 8v 1992 k-reg.would be a great help thanks
Hi Gavin, torque to 20Nm it shouldn't make it stop but without a good signal the ecu wouldn't be able to detect if the engine was "pinking" and it's control over the injection system would be limited
