2001 Ford Focus central locking fault?

Had the same fault with mine was advised by my brother who deals in cars that it is a common fault and that if I adjusted the boot locking mechanism slightly - would find that it corrected the fault. Tried it (just tightened up the boot locking mechanism) and it worked.

Did you get any help in this matter or find the solution as i have the same problem with my Y reg focus.
have you had any other electrical faults since.
