Peugeot 2.0 HDI electrical problems?

indicators stop working after 3 flashes and headlights come on.
Also electrics lost to rev counter, fuel gauge, hazzard lights, speedometer and all warning lights come on. This happened whilst driving on M11. recovery engineer fixed by fiddling with fuses, but he cannot see how fault rectified itself as no fuses were loose. Any ideas?

seems like ure got bad connection.poss earths. check all the earthing points for corrosion.you have not mentioned the model though or year of vehicle.other common problem might be bsi unit.
