how can i fix my door lock on a hotpoint aquarius wm64?

hi can any one help me. my lock has not been working properly for a while. you had to slam the door quite a few time before it would work. so today i decided to try and fix it myself. but when i undid the two screws in the door the lock fell. my boyfriend is away at the moment will not be happy when he knows what i have done. any help to fix this problem before he gets back will be gratefully recieved.
