Help! I've rubbed the paint off my cooker with cleaner?

I was cleaning the hob plate on my Professional Rangemaster 90 Ceramic oven when I realised it had got onto the black metal strip that runs along the front. It has rubbed/ stripped the black paint off and now looks aweful. The people at Rangemaster have told me I would have to buy a whole new ceramic hob (£500) as they can't replace the actual strip itself as it is connected to the hob and not detachable. Has anybody got any ideas of a black paint I could use to paint back over where it has rubbed off? Or any other ideas that might help me. Thank you.
