The fault that causes the picture to go blank but the sound to stay on is the back light goin out why switching it on and off sometimes brings it back I'm not sure however what causes this fault is poor earthing to the backlight and it is easily rectified Its a 15min job all you need to do is remove the back cover and find a metal plate that runs down the right hand side (looking at the back) with 6small screws holding it in place these are grounding the back light and just need tightened to improve the earthing contact especially the top left screw if you want to make a better job of it you could remove and clean them and where they are in contact with but tightening them usually does the job they don't take much turning and you'd be surprised how big a difference it makes i had the same problem with my set and did this and it worked first time

when i turn on the tv the screen is black .i have to keep turning the tv on and of till i get a picture.

Hi

I have the same problem ! on the same set. In addition I have noticed that if I hold down the on/off button on the top of the set the LCD will work fine.....until i release the button. This indicates that the power supply is OK and that the unit still works, if only to button did !

Any further ideas from anyone on what part needs to be replaced.
