Unfortunately, getting your DVD player to eject the dvd will require you to open the unit, and disassemble the internal subassembly which contains the laser unit. It is a tedious and technically detailed process, one which I have gone through at least twice with my 7 inch top loader with built-in LCD screen (model number C17P0100).
It is not a fun thing to do.
Finally my DVD player gave up the ghost on me, and tells me that no disc has been inserted when I put in a disc. It appears as though my laser diode has burned itself out after many hours of constant use.
I'm sitting here trying to devise a way to use the LCD display in some other electronics project - however since it uses Red Green and Blue signals, without using a SCART or similar interface to convert from component to RGB, I might just be junking the whole shebang.
What is in a name?
