How do I remove the rear wheel bearing nut on Ford Ka 2002?

Could someone assist me I am struggling to remove the laminated nut on the rear wheel bearing on a ford Ka 2002 fitted with brake drums. Usually with the castle nut the nut isn't bolted up so tightly. I've tried with a 30mm socket but it wont' budge. Is there a torque setting etc. Appreciate some assistance. This is normally an easy job.

your right it is 30mm NOT 27. you just need to give it some beans they can be very tight.try some tubing over your bar for more torque.

This laminated nut is in most cases 27mm and it appears that the only way to remove it is by bending back thacage enough to get a socket on it. It is not a taper bearing so will be considerabley tighter than the old timkin bearing set up that had the castleated cover and split pin. I think it is a ridiculous backward step by Ford. People alwaya used to buy a Ford because it was easy to get parts and easy to fix. It saddens me to see what junk they now produce across the range.
