How do I fix my Simpson Eziset 500 dryer lint filter spindle?

We have a Simpson Eziset 500 clothes dryer. The plastic lint filter spindle has broken off on one side and now the lint filter will not stay in place. The spindle is located at the back of the drum in the centre. It looks like it is fixed from the rear of the drum. Is the spindle a readily available spare part and can it be fitted easily?
Thanks

G'day from Sydney,

Mine broken on Mon 10 Aug 09 at 1900.

I used Sezrej's advice and it worked.

Remember to pull the grey or black pin fully towards you other wise the back cover wont come off. A mere male, :-)

The cost of the Support Spigot Assy-kit Cost was $30.00 including GST.

If in Sydney ring Appliance Spares Pty Ltd on (02) 97083482.

Appliance Spares Pty Ltd are located at 93 Eldridge Rd, Bankstown.

They had heaps of spares, great service !!

Hi, this is the answer posted on another forum. It helped me as I had the same problem. I acknowledge Darren who posted the following.

I have the same dryer and just purchased and fitted a Support Spigot Assy-kit Cost $20 Took about 45 min to fit Electrolux part number 0012377009. This part has a black pin that comes up the centre with a loop on the end. It is not that hard to do but the back panel has to come off, the four screws on the inside of the drum have to be undone this holds the drum to the spigot, The black pin or grey has to be pulled forward to allow the back part to come out from the housing ( when the new one is fitted that pin should be pushed back as far as it can go to stop it from falling from the housing. Hope this helps
