new mower smoking like its on fire?

just incase make sure you just put in straight petrol not petrol mixed with oil. briggs and stratton i think only make 4stroke engines not 2stroke

Too much oil I reckon .U need to drain some off , either by undoing sump plug ( underneath engine ) or by syphoning some off using a suction device such as a kitchen baster or similiar until required level is reached .Required level is on dipstick between top and bottom mark .Dipstick is other cap (not fuel) which u see when looking down on engine
