Honda Harmony II HRT 216 mower has not been used in close to 7 years. Added gas. Engine starts up and then shuts off.

Chances are the carb is full of 7-year-old crud. You can try draining the float bowl and allowing it to re-fill with clean gas, but it that doesn't work you will need to strip & clean the carb.
