How to cure noisy fan on AEG D2160 competence double oven?

When the oven is turned on and starts to warm up the fan or at least I think it's the fan starts to make a rattling noise.
This can be stopped when you bang the side of the cabinet housing but is only temporary.
It doesn't do it when it is up to temperature but starts doing it again when it cools down.
Any help would be appreciated
Oven is an AEG D2170-1M2 CONPETENCE double oven

I had this problem with my built in AEG oven. You will need a hand to lift the oven out of the kitchen housing unit. Once out it's safe to stand it on a workmate type bench. SWITCH OFF THE MAIN COOKER SWITCH, it's live under the covers.Remove the 2 top panels. Pull the 2 tags off the motor, and remove 2 screws each end of the fan unit. All screws are self tapping and refitting the fan is easier if you run the screws in the fixing holes before fitting the fan in position, and then remove them as you will find that lining them up and starting them in the hole is so much easier. Keep hands out and switch on and make sure the fan runs before refitting the top panels. Refit oven into the housing unit and thats it JOB DONE. Search around on line as the prices do vary for these spares.

same problem for me with the squeak, much better but not cured with copper grease, might try some silicon, thought it would be a bit hot for normal grease, maybe not.

also;

'you lift the spindle.Its live'

ummmm, and that explains all the dust build-up on this fan.

We had the same problem and a spot of grease on the fan spindle end worked so far for us too! Thanks!

As you'll gather from what follows, im not an electrician so dont place too much reliance on every detail, but.....
We had this problem. You need access to the top of the oven. On ours there are two top plates that remove by fairly obvious screws. Underneath at the back is a cyclinder fan. The right hand spindle of the fan (as you look at it from the front) rotates inside a rubber housing (looked a bit like a large orange rubber button on ours). There are no bearings or anything and it was the vibration of this that was causing the noise. I gently prised off the rubber housing, cleaned it out with a cotton bud and put a bit of grease inside the hole where the spindle goes before replacing. Ours has been quiet now for 3 weeks. If, like me, you want to enhance your leaping and shouting skills, leave the power supply on whilst you lift the spindle.Its live, I suppose the rubber was a clue.
