How do I unlock the trays?

I have a Phillips CDR 796 Audio CD Player/Recorder which up to now has been good But last week I had a problem that it dispayed on the front that the trays are locked, and there is no way that I can get the trays open. It has NO buttons on the player to unlock the trays and nothing in the manual explaining anything about locked trays. Please If you got any idea would be helpful.
