How do I fix a cut extension cord?

I ran over my extension cord for my electric lawnmower and would like to repair it.

You should buy a waterproof connector - only able to be connected 1 way round - and then wire it up so that the colours match in each connector. ie red to red / blue to blue.

You should NOT tie the wires together and tape them up.
