Mend Panasonic NV-HD680B Error Press Eject

How do I fix my Panasonic NV-HD680B with error F06?

There is a tape in the VCR. When I press Eject it whirrs a bit then shuts down with F06 on the LED.

Anyone know what's happening and how I can fix this? If unfixable then at least how do I get this tape out?
