I was given a used Cuisinart DLC-7 Foodprocessor and I can't latch the lid shut in order for it to operate. Is there a local Cuisinart repair shop near Tarzana, CA, 91356. It was only used twice so I'm not sure why it won't latch.
I have a 30 year old DLC-7 as well. My lid has cracked and I discovered that replacements are readily available. The lid is two sided and there is a small white plastic pusher opposite the handle of the work bowl which should be placed at the rear of the machine. The expanded feed tube should be placed at the back side of the work bowl.

I just got an old cuisinart, same model, same problem. I messed with it for a long time before realizing I simply needed to rotate the lid 180%. degrees.
hopefully, that will do it

Try pushing down on the feed tube while snapping the line along the back into place. If they aren't all lined up there is no electrical connection. It may not be broken, and you just need the children to connect the pieces (sorta like the child proof caps-). I have to hold the pieces in the tube down as I slide it into place, they are kinda springy...anyhow, be gentle, and try to get all the magnets in the tubes lined up...good luck
