Mend Potterton Flamingo 50 Boiler Heating Faulty

Help - Potterton Flamingo 50?

Heating system not working - water in rads - pump working when system switched on, but doesn't appear that the boiler fires up - pilot light ok. System was working ok last week, but just suddenly stopped heating the rads. Everything I have checked so far seems to point to the faulty boiler (not firing up).

Any ideas why that might be - or any tests I could do to find the problem ?

Another useful thing to have would be a manual for the boiler - havn't got one and can't seem to find one anywhere online - even at potterton main site (think the boiler is too old)

Any ideas where I might find one ?

On the boiler the pressure gauge on the black side of it is in the red area & the red side of gauge is in the green is this safe or do you think there is a possible leak from somewhere on the boiler pressure gauge ?.

If the pilot lightn is lit but the main burner doesnt light first check it is getting mains power with a multimeter when the timer is calling for heat . If there is power to the boiler , check there is power to the gas valve this may be 240v or 12v if there is power to the gas valve but it doesnt light then the gas valve has gone.
