How do I fix my sony ericsson w810i screen?

Hi I just changed the cover on my phone and now when it switches on the display is all white. It remains this way but still is fully functional. I don't want to start messing about with it until I have been given some advice.

Any ideas what could've happened?

Could you please tell me how to take the screen of & then put new 1 on. The reson is the 1 thats on is badly scratched

Hi George, Can you give any more details, hw many lines roughley or is the screen flashing black and white a few seconds after switching on?

If the screen has lines, has the phone been droped or gotten wet at anytime? or even had rough use?

Lines usualy meen screen damage and would generally require a replacment screen installing and a new screen would cost around £20 to buy yourself and install yourself.

If the screen is flashing black and white this meens that there is a problem with the main bootloader firmware on the phone which is not designed to be repaired by yourself the end user. I do repairs on the software of the mobile phone to restore all firmwares back to factory settings for a fixed fee of £5.

If you require a new screen but are not sure about doing it yourself I can do this for you, the screen costs £20 plus i charge £5 for my time of installing it for you, if the phone did require a firmware reload, i would do this at the same time at no extra cost.

If your mobile is still under warranty, you might be able to get your mobile repaired by Sony Ericsson for free, however if your phone has been altered droped or water damaged Sony Ericsson will not repair your mobile and will charge you £11.75 for your phone to be returned to you.
