Mend Sony Ericsson z550i Battery Charge Switched

Problem with my Sony Ericsson z550i?

The battery seems to charge and shows almost full charge. When switched on it behaves normally for a couple of minutes then without warning shows white screen followed by shut down. A couple of minutes later it repeats the whole sequence and keeps on doing this until closed down.

Sony Ericsson Sony Ericsson z550i Telephones, Mobile Phones Battery Charge Switched

I solved the problem by downloading Sony Ericsson's update for my mobile's software then used the usb cable to connect the phone. The updated software cured the problem.
