possible power supply failure. you will need to get an electrician or competant person to check the pull cord switch terminals as i have attended a few instalations where the terminals holding the electrical cables were not tight enough, a common sign is the ends of the wires turning black, if this is the case trim off the burnt end of the cable and fit a new pull cord switch, this will fix the problem

Check the main fuse or trip switch at your consumer unit first. Does the shower have a pull switch fixed to the bathroom ceiling with a neon indicator? You need to get power to this switch before you'll get anywhere.
