I washed my mp 3 - can it be fixed ?

i dropped my 16GB version of it down a toilet on the 1st december 08, i dried mine a little but i tried to charge mine up as the battery was low on mine, then i let it dry out some more and all i can do now is get it on the recovery mode when connected as i can't format it as it resets itself and does the same when i tried to reload the firmware. though it only now comes on when connected (it stays off when not connected on mine)

all i can say is really let it dry as i think i tried to get mine working again too soon but now i need to know if i can sort out my mp3 player

probably not. leave it for a few days. do not turn it on or plug it into the computer. let it dry maybe put it under a warm hairdryer.after about a week try turning it on...if it works YAY! if not sorry.
