There are 2 thermostats mounted on the inside of the back of the dryer. One is for the warm setting and the other for the hot. It's unlikely they have both stopped working at the same time. First try testing the dryer in both settings. If there is still know heat it's the element.

If you have a mulitmeter you can do a continuity test on the element. Remove the power plug and lay the dryer down on the front of it. Unscrew the fan belt cover and remove the fan belt. Now unscrew the back panel. Be carefull when removing the back panel there are wires going to the 2 thermostats attached to the rear panel.

Set the multimeter to the ohm setting and touch the two probes together to make sure you get a zero reading. Look down the side of the drum you will see the ends of the element sticking out. Remove the 2 wires attached to the element and using your multimeter touch each end of the element to see if you get a zero reading.

If you don't get a zero reading then you have to replace the element. It's not hard to do if you are a handy type of person.
