Nissan Almera 2.2 diesel - cuts out?

Bought a second hand one a month ago, problems started straight away - literally. I was driving home from Leeds (where I bought it from) and was almost home when I stopped for diesel and when I tried to start up again it broke down on me. Problem persists as follows: It will not start but starter motor turns over. It sounds like there is no fuel there. If I take the battery lead off and leave for a while then replace the battery lead, the car starts straight away.

Will then run but only for a short amount of time (half hour) before it cuts out again.

Advice please - urgent!

Nissan Nissan Almera 2.2 Vehicles, Cars Diesel Cuts Out

My 2000 2.2 diesel almera was driving fine and one day just cut out,when you turn the key its trying to start,but wont,theres half a tank of diesel so i know it hasnt run out,the garage thinks its the fuel pump but they dont want to drop the engine out to get at it,anyone know what else the problem could be or an easier way to get at the pump...day 8 of not having my car...i cant cope any longer please help

Hi bought my Nisson three years ago and it was a bit sluggish but they i mean Reg Vardy could not tell me what it was so i just put up with it then after a year it would not start first thing so i went back to R.V. no joy and the warranty was out so i took it to a diesel pump expert and it was the rubber hose had became porous from the filter onto the steel preasurised system problem solved now i see this was in 2008 perhapes you have fixed yours by now, now my problem is barkes they put on new brake disks & pads
when i bought it three years ago last wear i got the pads greased etc then it passed MOT now the same thing this year and i only done 6000M and it failed on break fade is there any other people had the same problem thank you.
