hi guys, i recently tried to replace my front pads on my 1999 bmw 323i?

while replacing my brake pads i noticed the caliper piston on the driverside goes in and out fine but will not go in the last 5mm? so i cant get my caliper back on the rotor with the new pads in? i have tried a clamp to push it in and with the brake fluid resivour cap off? is there anything i can try or do i need a new caliper? please help your info would be appreciated.

mrpocketpossum is really helpful with his advice.
Most caliper's have a bleed nipple on them, Have a look and see if you can locate it, it might be covered by a rubber dust cap. Slacken the nipple off and gentle push the piston in, use a cloth to soak up the brake fluid that will come out the nipple, once you've pushed the piston back retighten the nipple. Do the other side the same then top up your brake fluid.

well most people who go to change their pads know what the hell they are doing...*hint* *hint* but what ever dont take your cap off...ever ever...all i can say is use a bigger clamp?
