test it on another computer to make sure it is working. some systems like windoze need drivers to work third party hardware so search the internet for that. check to see if the p/drive has a small lock switch on it-if so then slide it to the open position. Try another usb port on the computer just in case the first is dead. pen drives don't like water or static it may be damaged.
