Mend Citroen Saxo 1.5 Diesel Revs Fine Problem

how can i fix my citroen saxo 1.5 diesl?

my car ticks over perfectly the revs go up fine its only a problem when i try and drive away it splutters then the engine cuts out and dies i hav been told it might be something to do with the fuel but i dont see this if it ticks over perfectly
