When hitting it sharply either use a rubber mallet or cushion the blow with something as otherwise the plastic cap will break.

turn on its side and inject WD 40 into vents on fill valve both sides leave overnight upside down supported turn upright hit fill valve sharply then open normally if this does not do it the top casing will have to be removed the pressure vented by undoing the two screws on the magnetic switch with black tube
attached to it, O Ring seal in switch. Carry out this procedure at your risk Thank you
