Mend Renault Megane 1.6 Started Making Turn

Renault Megane 1.6. Is it the ball joint?

My renault megane 1.6 has started making creaking noises when I turn the steering wheel. Is this the ball joint and if so what is the cost of repair?

Ball joints normally rattle when worn, rather than squeak. It sounds like the steering column has a dry bush if the noise is inside the car.....however, the front springs have top bearings on them which howl a bit when dry - it could be down to them.
