Mend Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 311CDI 2002 Power Turbo

merc sprinter 311cdi 2002 diesel?

Loss of power up hills.Almost as if the turbo boost not working.Had it at merc garage ,who say it is ok.Initially pulled up hill about 60mph.Offered more throttle and a big black puff came out the back.The engine had no go in it.Back on the flat and the van will not pull more than 60mph.Doesn't won't to rev more than 2,000,in any gear.

Had this today just after adding £20 of shell derv, got to big hill loss of power & rest of trip with no turbo (lack of power on hills & hardly any acceleration) restarted van at destination & turbo working fine & did so for return tripof 150 miles & 3 restarts enroute, mystery to me

have you checked the rubber turbo pipes they are prone to splitting
