How can I fix my Bosch SMU4052VC/14?

I have had the same problem. What I did was to open up the flat wire harness at the bottom of the door where it bends every time the door is opened. The wire that is broken may have left a small burn mark on the outer plastic. The first repair I did was crimp the two ends back together with a insulated sleeve and tape them. this only worked for about a year and the wire broke at the crimped sleeve. The next fix was to solder the two wires and tape them this fix has lasted 3 years and counting.
