How can I get the water to drain away?

You might begin by examining the drain pump impeller - under a cover at the very bottom of the washing chamber in the sump and held in place by a single Torx screw.

Sometimes small bits of debris get trapped under the impeller blades and make it stall = no draining.

The impeller blades should rotate freely but with a bit of magnetic resistance.
