Mend Homelite Super Chainsaw Going

homelite super 2 chainsaw--- no oil going to chain?

I just bought an old homelite super 2 saw with adjustable oiler. I can't figure how to oil the bar/chain. Checked the lines & cleaned everything I could see. It all seems fine, and nothing plugged up. Is there a built-in pump somewhere on this damn thing? Or is there a trick to getting the oil to flow from the oil tank ? Thanks for any help or suggestions. Joe

I need to know how to route the oil lines on my old red Homelite Super 2. Two oil lines exit the oil tank but where do they go; also I cannot find a check valve either on the tank or on the oil line. Is that a problem?

The oil tank should have a check valve (rubber duck bill) without which, the oil tank will not pressurize. Check to see if it is there and make sure it is in good condition. It may be on the tank, or on the end of the line inside the tank. Mine is visible as soon as the oil cap is opened.

Oil sys on super 2 uses pressure in oil tank to push oil to orifice and on to opening in bar and on to chain.
There is plastic line that goes from tank to fitting on motor, and another line from fitting to oil port.
Motor is fairly easy to remove from case, 4 #10x24 screws hardned.
Super 2 can be a good ole saw but it will not hold up to heavy abuse, like sawing a 30 inch log.It is perfect for sawing up to maybe 18 inch logs and smaller
