fiat ducato, 1991, 2.5 diesel,LHD, jammed in reverse, any ideas?
WE have a Fiat Ducato based motorhome that has jammed in reverse gear after being bogged down, it has a column gearshift and is left hand drive, the fault appears to be in the gearbox,rather than the linkage. Any help would be appreciated.The engine is a 2.5 turbo-diesel.
Hi quite a common problem on these.
The problem is internal to the gearbox,the gearbox normally gets run out of oil and the gears seize to the main shaft.
Only option is to take the box out and strip it to find out what damage has been done.
