how can i fix my renault espace cooling fan?

i have i renault espace petrol engine that keeps over heating the temperature gauge is not working and do not no where to start looking any help would help thanks for your help

Jason ..... sounds like the temp sender needs changing and isn't an expensive or difficult job to do. One way of checking the radiator fan is working is to unplug the connector and use a couple of wires, one to the positve terminal of the battery and the other to a metal part of the car and touch the two connector pins on the radiator side of the connector with these two wires. Be careful not to touch the wires together though.
