hi my brother has a renault espace 2.2 dt on an 05 plate there seems to be a problem with the clutch or the slave cylinder ???? hes been quoted £800 for replacing the clutch assembly is this a bit over the top ??? as they say the engine needs removing ??? if it is just the slave cylinder how difficult are they to replace ???
I'd get a quote from the clutch specialists: Mr Clutch. Check your local Yellow Pages.

They may also have quoted for a dual mass flywheel,(if it has one)as they often need replacing as well,& it may have a concentric slave cylinder,(also,if it has one)which would be fitted inside the bell housing.

yes you have to remove engine when changing the clutch on most cars. suggest you try ringing around to see if you can get a lower price.
