How do I remove the cover (case half) on a Brother XR 65 machine?

The missus put the machine in reverse now the feed will not go forward. I would like to look at the mechanism but can't get the cover to release.

Hello Paul,
If you have a two piece plastic body machine you will have a devil of a job to get it off, there are plastic catches on the inside after you have undone the screws that will easily break away if you you are not very careful, if they break, when you fit the body back together you will find the body distorted.
