Mend Toilet Cistern Dual Flush

about a close coupled dual flush system?

I lifted the lid of my close coupled dual flush cistern the other day and the plastic grooved side brackets detached themselves from the inner mechanism so that the plungers now don't operate. How to I refix these brackets?
