Baz Hi, I know the 50si well. The fan should start first, thats the good news. Can you tell me if you have tried to start it with the switch both high and low, if you have and still there is no spark, then we can prob can say that there is no issue with either the high or low stat. There is a 3rd stat for pump overrun but this would also not stop it sparking. These stats are a few quid by the way and easy to fit. We need then to look at the spark electrode. There is an electrode cable that runs from the PCB to the electrode itself. There is a chance that this has broken (they do break as it runs through tight holes with gromet and with the heat etc.). When you start the boiler do you hear the spark generator on the PCB clicking - about once a second. If you can see the PCB you will see a small light flicker? (you will need to open the boiler to do this) If it is then you can assume its the lead (electrode at one end and other end plugs into PCB (circuit board)). This lead is about a £10-£20 last time I bought 1. I would not rush out and get a replacement PCB as these are about £100 and often they are not where the fault is (retailer will not re-stock once open). Let me know. You can test the electrode cable's continuity to see if it is still in one piece. Sorry would write more but late and work tomorrow. Hope this helps a little.
Maybe drop yr contact e-mail here and i can maybe help more.
Good luck with it. Stefan
