My DVD keeps re-setting itself. I have opened the case and powered up but the fan is off. Is this normal or is it connected with the regulator STRG 6353 problem? Where can I source an STRG 6353 in the U.K. I am having difficulty locating the part number on the internet, is there an equivalent part number I can search for?
the component is available from cricklewood electronics at a cost of £5 to £8 i have replaced mine and put a much larger heat sink in place and the unit runs fine, if you decide to do the repair your self make absolutly sure you carfully discharce the 400volt electrolitic capacitor if you not sure find someone to do the repair for you, as this component can give a nasty shock!!

Thanks. Sourced STR-G6353 from Dalbani.co.uk. Fitted using a heat sink compound and also installed a larger heat sink. M/c now working fine, time will tell.
