Hello, my non turbo tranny has a intermitant clutch judder in first gear only!? It comes and goes but 50% of the time its really smooth, and never slips. I think it may have a tendancy to happen when its warm.
Do i need a new clutch?
Rough estimation of labour in hr's?

If it was oil contamination it would only do it when cold.

This is a sure sign of slight clutch deterioration, probably due to oil contamination of the friction plate but if the clutch doesn't actually slip I'd live with it if possible.....you may like to check out the state of the engine mountings though - if loose or split the symptoms are the same.
Book time for replacement is 4 hours.
