Repair to uPVC double glazeing window lock?

Handle swinging on pvc Windows,are they easy fixed or replaced ?

hi i got a window that has shut and lock i try to open it but it will not open i took the handle off and put a new bit of 7mm bar in it but just turn the window open out wards in a bedroom the bottom half the top half is just a window it look like it got one pin on one said on frame to wall and one pin one the other side of frame to wall and some sort of lock under the handle to the frame us i look on a other window that in other bebroom and same windown can any one hep me how to fix this the cheep way us poss and how to fix it

remove handle get small screwdriver. you may have to bend it a bit .but in to spindle hole at bottom try and slide bar left or right witch hand. it some times helps to push on opening light at same time

can you replace these mechanisms similar to a PVC door, which i have done in the past. People seem to think its a window wrecking job to replace on windows...???

hi gang, i've got the same problem, although my window would appear to have a freak lock in that it measures about 9mm square, when the only size handle drives i can find are 7mm. Typical of my freak house really! Cheers. Marty.

no way of opening it you need to either damage the sash and replace it or full new window

It sounds like you need to replace the "Espagnolette Window Lock". Check out this link:

you can try and open it with a hex/allen key then take lock out and replace,if it wont open this way then i'd recomend you phone a double glazing repair company and get a quote as its a tricky job to open without damaging your sash.hope this helps,if you need to ask me anything else regarding this fault feel free to e-mail me from my website.
