my escort diesel van started to tick over as if searching for fuel and now?
my ford escort diesel van was ticking over as if searching for fuel, cutting out sometimes. Now it wont start at all. i've replaced the filter but was still searching. cant find any air leaks. ?
my fuel filter diaphram seems to be pumping the fule ok, but i have the same problem, as if the engine is being restricted of fuel, and revs go up and down too.

the problem maybe the priming pump diaphram that has split. it is apparently a common problem. I have just replaced ours and it solved the problem. It only takes a few minutes to fit the new part. you will need to pull off the fuel pipe at the injector pump and prime the system putting back the fuel pipe whilst pumping a little fuel using the priming pump, this helps get fuel though the system faster.
