my escort diesel van started to tick over as if searching for fuel and now?

my fuel filter diaphram seems to be pumping the fule ok, but i have the same problem, as if the engine is being restricted of fuel, and revs go up and down too.

the problem maybe the priming pump diaphram that has split. it is apparently a common problem. I have just replaced ours and it solved the problem. It only takes a few minutes to fit the new part. you will need to pull off the fuel pipe at the injector pump and prime the system putting back the fuel pipe whilst pumping a little fuel using the priming pump, this helps get fuel though the system faster.
