Vauxhall CD30 problems?

My CD30 won't turn off and just goes to mute, so it comes on and drains the battery. What am I doing wrong

Hi I have a 2009 Astra Van and the radio won’t turn on, the display above is lit and working but the radio won’t turn on. I’ve tried the fuses and they are all ok, any thoughts please anyone?..

Hi people I have the same problem the unit works fine but no sound but today my partner open the passenger side door and it worked try the doors on your car's now I just need to find out y it's doing that but I have sound now and I'm happy so keep your radio on and open and shut the doors good luck I hope that will help some people

Radio and cd appear to work ok but the volume is not working. It is either very quiet or non existent. As some sound albeit v quiet it doesn't appear to be a speaker problem. Any advise or solution would be gratefully received.

how do i get the twin audio to work on my meriva life i installed the twin audio as the block was there for it but it still doesnt work i have a cd30 head unit can anyone help please

I had a similar problem with the CD30 in my Meriva, followed your advice and thought everything was going well. checked the fuses in the fuse panel in the passenger footwell, it looked fine but I changed it to be sure and took the radio out (extremely gingerly) and after a big of googling found the F1 fuse I was looking for. This looked fine but I changed it anyway...to be sure. Still nothing, the display on the dash still works and even responds to attempts at tuning and other radio operations but there is no sound and it won't eject the cd that is in there. I am at a loss as to what it is. At first I thought it was a problem with the speakers but all four at once? and the cd not ejecting seems a little strange. Has anyone else had this?

hi there, just wondering how you took the unit out. I have a meriva with a radio cassette and want to replace with a cd unit, but for the life of me cant get the old unit out. I have taking out the 4 grub screws and tried to yank it out, then removed most of the dash to see if i missed a screw orsomething!! can you help. Cheers.

ive found the answer myself.....the problem was fuse F1 (open the unit, the fuse is clearly marked on the PCB,) set of testers (continuity) would further enforce my diagnosis, no continuity = fuse busted, solution is to bridge one side of the fuse to the other(other option is new fuse at great cost) email is andrew.aliison(a)ntlworld.com if any further assistane needed (dont have photos, not willing to open the unit
