Indesit WD10 Control revolves - light flashes eight times?

Programme knob on my Indesit WD10 just keep clicking around. I have tried to re-set but it makes no difference. Power light flashes eight times then there is a gap then eight times and so on. I believe that will be a fault code but I cannot find out what it means. None of the wash programmes, except 'drain' work. I have checked the filter, water supply etc. The dryer works. Help would be greatly appreciated.
