Mend Gainsborough 8.5 SDL Low Water Pressure

Our shower, a Gainsborough 8.5 SDL has very low water pressure?

We have just move to a property with an 8.5 SDL model and can't really use it as the water pressure to to low, how can we check the correct pressure required to run the shower and is their any reason why the previous owners may have set the system with such a low pressure?
