very simply; get a length of cord / sting and pull down both sides towards the hinge - this will catch the metal leaver and pull it open

unplug machine, take off top cover, try to open interlock from inside machine. May be necessary to break interlock open and fit a new one. Check out www.2ndwave.co.uk/manual/
