Hi, I am completely new to this forum and I was desperate for some information that I was struggling to find on the internet. I am in a middle of a litigation with an plumbing engineer who want to charge me £600 for a boiler he could never fix (Range Powermax 155x)....after 7weeks and explained the time it took with parts he was waiting for due to come from CHINA! Thanks to the generous information that the members of this forum have been sharing, I was able to contact the manufaturer directly who confirmed that parts are British or Italian only for this boiler.

range made the powermax and didnt actually go out of business they were bought out by baxi potterton however in baxi pottertons ultimate wisdom they laid off all ranges engineers hence the general lack of knowledge sorrounding the system.

We are a plumbing and heating company based in south east who have three ex range engineers working for us and have copies of all literature if any body requires it feel free to contact us and we would be happy to supply you with user guides for the boiler. 0845 496 2402

I have had the same problem with no user/installation manual and have telephoned Baxi on this number and they are sending a manual free of charge in the post 3 - 5 working days hope this helps Call 0844 871 1545 .

if flue system is a twin pipe type then check if brackets are fitted just above the boiler and potterton wouldgive you the manuals

Dear Terry,
I don't know the answer to the question. But just to be helpful, we had a problem recently as the pressure dropped. An engineer came and with a screwdriver turned a 'screw' on the water pipe (it looked like) there was a hissing noise, some air came out the pressure arrow went up so the black and red arrows on the boiler lined up and then it worked again. He said this needs to be done every 6 months! Barbara march 08

vaillant don't make powermax boiler. Range who made the powermax went out of business, but if you go to http://www.partsarena.com you can get parts and installation details.
