thermostat on vw golf mk3 18. td?

he's right, that's where the housing is but i think u need to remove the power steering pump to gain access in order to remove it. i'll be replacing mine tmrw(also a mk3 1.8) so i'll let u know how it goes unless you've already done yours, in which case do tell!

I know a little that may be helpful.

The thermostat housing is located and connected on bottom left hand area of the radiator. It is a black plastic thing connected to the engine and connected to the radiator with a hose. Not sure how to take it of exactly but shouldnt be too difficult. Be careful cause you need to drain coolant first.

Hope it helps. gonna be changing mine soon , but need to put new fuel filter on mine as well.
